From the age of six years, I was fascinated with movies- how they were made, the messages that they sent, and the emotions that they made me feel. That passion led me to studying mythology, storytelling, and story structure (and a borderline unhealthy obsession with Joseph Campbell and the Star Wars franchise).
My passion for storytelling led me to film school, which fueled my desire to be a part of the physical movie making process - I was hooked. An internship at Columbia/TriStar, working under some of the biggest names in movie advertising, and directly with top level filmmakers, helped give me the confidence to move up the studio ladder at a relatively young age.
After several years as a young studio executive, navigating politics, working closely with filmmakers & talent, I realized that I wanted to write and produce. I spent some time writing my own screenplays, and in 2003, I wrote & produced and award winning short (Silver Cattle - Winner -Telluride Independent Film Festival).
My professional travels landed me at Herzog & Co., where I helped run their “behind the scenes”/entertainment marketing content division, which exposed me to working relationships with most of the movie studios in town. While there, I learned to build and manage teams of producers, editors, and support staff, while honing my creative skills both in the edit bay, and on the set.
Working on franchises such as National Treasure and Pirates of the Caribbean, introduced me to many of the different divisions at the Walt Disney Company. It became clear that there was a need to help bridge the gap between the departments, by helping maintain story & brand consistency in all areas. (ex. films, spin offs, consumer products, theme parks, video games, etc.)
In 2016, I served as Sr. Creative Producer at Lucasfilm, Ltd, in San Francisco, where I was able to work on the franchise that started it all for me. As the head of their in house production department, I served all divisions of Lucasfilm, Ltd. and the Walt Disney Studios, helping to make sure that the creative bar was raised to the highest of standards for the Star Wars franchise.
My ability to cross over from the studio side, to the vendor side, to being in the trenches “on the set”, makes me a triple threat and an extremely valuable asset, ready for just about anything! Empathy is one of the keys to my success. Understanding where people are coming from (at every level) and understanding what they are ultimately trying to accomplish, can make anything possible.
I have been blessed to have gotten to work on the biggest franchises in the world, with some of the most talented people in the film and television industry in the world.
Over the last 25+ years, I have a cultivated a vast network of resources to tackle any job, big, small (and especially the impossible), anywhere around the globe. I’m looking forward to meeting more talented people, traveling to new places, solving new problems, and continue learning from the best in the business, while sharing my creativity, imagination, and passion.
Please explore the portfolio section for a sampling of the work that I have produced, along side so many talented individuals, to which I owe a huge debt of gratitude for my career & successes.
I hope you feel (what I know I feel) when you watch these pieces.
Enjoy!
